The Winter Soldier aka Bucky Barnes

They ended up experimenting on him and trained him to become a secret assassin that used the name, the ‘Winter Soldier’. He also received a bionic arm due to his injuries that he sustained before the Russians found him.

In the MCU, Bucky Barnes is played by Sebastian Stan. You might recognize him from shows like Gossip Girl and Once Upon a Time.

Captain America aka Steve Rogers

Steve Rogers joined the army as a scrawny kid. He was given the Super Soldier Serum, which significantly enhanced his physical abilities. This led to Steve becoming Captain America and saving the world on a consistent basis.

Captain America’s shield is made of vibranium, which is one of the rarest metals in the World. This shield is lightweight, balanced and is almost indestructible. He is able to use the shield as a weapon in various forms, including launching it like a disc at his enemies.

In the MCU, Steve Rogers is played by Chris Evans. If you are a comic book movie nerd, you definitely recognized Evans for his roles as Johnny Storm (aka the Human Torch) in Fantastic Four (2005), and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007).

Doctor Strange aka Stephen Strange

Stephen Strange was a neurosurgeon who was extremely talented but had a cocky attitude. After a car accident injured his hands, he meets the Ancient One and becomes a master of the mystical arts.

In the MCU, Strange is played by Benedict Cumberbatch. He is probably best known for his role in The Imitation Game (2014), which earned him an Academy Award nomination for best actor.

Hawkeye aka Clint Barton

Clint Barton served as one of the top agents for S.H.I.E.L.D for many years. He is known for his incredible marksmanship and is a deadly shooter with a bow and arrow. He later becomes a member of The Avengers, despite not having any actual superpowers.

In the MCU, Clint Baron is portrayed by Jeremy Renner. Renner has two Academy Award nominations under his belt. One was for best actor for his role in The Hurt Locker (2008). The other was best supporting actor for his role in The Town (2010).

Hulk aka Bruce Banner

Bruce Banner is a brilliant scientist who is known for his work in gamma radiation. Bruce ends up getting exposed to some gamma radiation, which leads to him becoming The Incredible Hulk. This turns him into an unstoppable monster when he is angry.

In the MCU, Bruce Banner is played by Mark Ruffalo. The character was also played by Edward Norton in The Incredible Hulk movie, which is technically apart of the MCU. Ruffalo has three nominations for best supporting actor under his belt. These came for his roles in The Kids Are All Right (2010), Foxcatcher (2014), and Spotlight (2015).

Iron Man aka Tony Stark

Tony went on create multiple versions of the armor and helps to protect the world as the Iron Man.

Loki

Loki is the adopted son of Odin and the brother of Thor. He is known for deceiving people, which gives him his nickname, the “God of Mischief”. Loki is a complicated character who has served as both a hero and a villain in the MCU.

In the MCU, Loki is played by Tom Hiddleston. You might have recognized him from films like War Horse (2011), Midnight in Paris (2011), and Kong: Skull Island (2017).

Nick Fury

Nick Fury is known for being a spy and a former director of S.H.I.E.L.D. He is also known for being the founder of The Avengers. Fury is known for being a great leader and for his strategic mind.

In the MCU, Nick Fury is played by Samuel L Jackson, who is one of the most famous actors of the last few decades. Jackson earned an Academy Award nomination for best supporting actor for his role in Pulp Fiction (1994).

Peter Quill aka Star-Lord

Peter Quill is known for being an intergalactic outlaw. He ends up joining (and leading) the Guardians of the Galaxy alongside Gamora, Drax, Rocket Raccoon, and Groot. Quill is known for his sense of humor and for his love of music.

In the MCU, Peter Quill is played by Chris Pratt. Outside of the MCU, Pratt is known for his role in the TV show, Parks and Recreation. He also made appearances in films like Moneyball (2011) and Zero Dark Thirty (2013).

Spider-Man aka Peter Parker

Peter Parker was bitten by a spider and ended up with spider-like powers as a result. This led to him becoming Spider-Man. With these powers, he can swing across buildings and scale up walls like a spider.
